All-star animated film Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa has stampeded to the top of the international box office chart, taking in $33.5 million (£22.6 million) in 56 territories.The DreamWorks movie, starring Ben Stiller, Jada Pinkett Smith, Chris Rock and David Schwimmer fought off competition from Keanu Reeves' sci-fi thriller The Day the Earth Stood Still, which finished second at $21 million (£14.2 million) in 92 markets.
Vampire lovestory Twilight, starring Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, sucked $11 million (£7.4 million) in earnings in 27 territories
